Photo Essay: Egg-cellent Eggs

Eggs are a staple in our house. We eat them frequently for breakfast; make french toast over weekends, and often have breakfast for dinner in the form of boiled egg and soldiers.
They also happen to be one of the most photogenic foods.
When I did the previous shoot, there were so many beautiful images that I thought it’s a shame not to show all of them off.
Below is a collection of images that show various food styling compositions, lightening and angles.
I hope they inspire you to look at eggs as more than just breakfast food.

Happy Styling

Until next time

I love how the shadows from the wire basket make the pattern on the eggs on this image.

I spray painted the egg cartons black to match the dark and moody theme.
The yellow of the yolk looks so striking against the dark background colors

I absolutely love the composition of the egg cups, and the dynamic tension created by leaving a few of the egg cups empty.

Playing around with angles, and composition creates exciting images, if you are interested in more about composition,
I wrote about why composition is important in food styling, and why as food stylists we can create for effective images if we focus on the rules of composition

Beautiful light and shadows.
