I used the last of my precious cherry stash, smashed up a few less than perfect meringues ( or you could use shop bought ) and a big dollop of cream.

A good way to start a Tuesday.
According to Ms S we should have Shrove Tuesday more often.

I succumbed to the Biscoff trend and despite the reservations at the list of ingredients 🙈 bought a jar. My verdict: over priced and overrated. I’d rather have Nutella.
With the maple syrup and berries it was nice but not worth the price of a jar. Good old cinnamon sugar gets my vote.

I make piles and post it notes.
I have piles of recipe books in the kitchen and on the coffee table, personal journals and reading next to my bed, photography books in my studio and more recipe books and food magazines on my desk. All of the with little sticky notes sticking out the tips.
I’m frustrated by the piles, and the clutter.
I need a plan
Any suggestions?

Although these roast garlic scrapes and asparagus tartlets are pretty darn delicious no matter the day and good for any occasion !

I love making fermented drinks, I’ve been making kombucha and water kefir for years, and now my new favourite: fruit shrubs.
Quicker and a lot less fiddly, they have a less appealing name, drinking vinegars?!? I know, doesn’t sound particularly appetizing but don’t let that put you off, they’re delicious especially with interesting flavour combinations,
This one is strawberry and purple basil.
It’s so good!

I have a rhubarb and lemon balm combo in the plan for today, and to bottle the plum and ginger one I made last week.
It’s so simple, macerate fruit in sugar, leave to ferment for a day, add vinegar, I like experimenting with different fruit vinegars, leave to ferment for a week, and voila.

Milder than garlic bulbs, like garlic infused asparagus. Well kind of , not really asparagus taste, like a very skinny garlic infused leek maybe , no not leek
Oh heck, just get some and try them then you’ll know what I mean.
